ASSA ABLOY IP-Enabled Campus Locks with HID Mobile Access Support Win Security Products 2015 New Product of the Year

ANAHEIM, California, September 28, 2015 — ASSA ABLOY IP-Enabled Campus Access Control Locks with HID Mobile Access® support have been named a Security Products New Product of the Year Award winner. The Security Products New Product of the Year Award honors outstanding product development achievements of manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security.

IP-enabled PoE and WiFi campus access control locks from ASSA ABLOY Group brands Corbin Russwin and SARGENT combine HID® multiCLASS SE® technology with a magnetic stripe reader and keypad, offering simultaneous support for multiple credentials. Ideal for universities, these locks allow an easy transition to any contactless credentials and HID Mobile Access®.

HID Mobile Access® powered by Seos® provides an easy, intuitive solution for securely issuing, delivering and revoking digital credentials on iOS and Android mobile phones and tablets with Bluetooth® Smart and/or NFC technology.

IP-enabled campus access control locks like the Corbin Russwin Access 700 and SARGENT Passport 1000 allow campuses to use existing IT infrastructure to simplify installation and expand their access control systems easily and affordably. Using the facility’s Ethernet network, Power over Ethernet (PoE) locks provide full online access control with standard network cabling and minimize energy consumption.  Ideal for adding access control to areas of a building that would be too difficult or costly to wire, WiFi locks use 802.11b/g/n infrastructure to significantly reduce hardware and labor costs.

“The New Product of the Year contest gives us a terrific sampling of security solutions available now,” said Ralph C. Jensen, Editor In Chief of Security Products magazine. “Our juried judges do an excellent job of compiling and assigning a score for each entry. I applaud those who entered this year for introducing the best of the best security systems. It is always exciting to view the entries and then release information about the winning entries.”

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award from Security Products Magazine. Our IP-Enabled Locks with HID technology provide tremendous value for end users because of their flexibility accommodating multiple credential platforms. We strove to develop a highly scalable solution for colleges and universities that provides a clear upgrade path without an additional investment in hardware,” stated Angelo Faenza, Vice President, Campus EAC Security Solutions, ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions.
